A blend of vintage and modern

Nneka lives with her husband and four sons in a five-bedroom Victorian end of terrace property in Kent. They have lived in their home for over 11 years, after relocating from East London. Given her love of period properties and their stunning architectural features, the family were immediately drawn to the amount of space the house had to offer: from large rooms to high ceilings. With the need of a re-style and upgrade, they secured the property without paying a premium for someone else’s interior style - they could treat their new home as a blank canvas. Today, Nneka blends vintage pieces with modern and handmade pieces, inspired by her affection towards Mid century modern and Scandinavian design.
Keen to keep her interior style authentic, Nneka finds inspiration in books, magazines and museums. She feels her home 100% reflects her personality: laid back with pops of colour. A reflection of someone who likes to have fun, but can also be very modest. Seeking out bargains on Ebay, Gumtree or local charity shops, Nneka is the proud owner of a variety of vintage pieces that she found second hand, either on a predetermined hunt for specific objects or as a happy coincidence. Offering up her #1 tip, Nneka explains that if you want to add a sense of space to your home you should invest in furniture that is raised from the floor: it must have legs. The first item she bought for their house was their dining room table and chairs from Heals. It was a big investment, but a must, as their kitchen diner is at the heart of their home - where their family and friends gather and feast. Their home is a combination of family and memories, it is always changing and evolving with them as a family. With good quality pieces lining their home, they hope their curated space will stand the test of time.
